Our Appointment Policies
These terms, including conditions and policies apply to our professional services relating to the SAMPARK & CO IP and notary services offered in our various websites including spco.com.au and notaryau.com
We expect that you understand that we are a professional service and our appointment times are limited, and we rely on your timely attendance and timely notice if you cannot attend or you need to reschedule an appointment with our lawyers, attorneys, notaries.
Please understand if you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, we respectfully request your timely notice of rescheduling requests or cancellation and be aware of our appointment policies below.
Please note our business hours are Monday to Friday (except public holidays), 9am to 5pm (Sydney, Australia time).
Please also note cancellation / rescheduling notice periods in our appointment policies that are expressed as ‘business hours’ may not be the same as hours on a clock.
For example, if an appointment is at 3pm then ‘4 business hours’ beforehand is 11am on the same business day. However, if an appointment is at 10am then ‘4 business hours’ beforehand is 2pm on the previous business day and not 6am on the same business day. Therefore please be aware when we request notice in business hours we are not requesting clock hours.
Rescheduling | Pre paid appointments
Rescheduling an appointment with more than 4 business hours of notice will not incur a fee.
Rescheduling an appointment with a notary with less than 4 business hours of notice will incur a fee of $165 or a fee equal to 50% of the appointment fee already paid whichever is more.
Rescheduling an appointment with IP lawyer or Patent & Trade Mark Attorney with less than 4 business hours of notice will incur a fee of $275 or a fee equal to 50% of the appointment fee already paid whichever is more.
Cancellation | Pre paid appointments
Cancellations with more than 8 business hours of notice will receive a 75% refund.
Cancellations with more than 4 business hours but less than 8 business hours of notice will receive a 50% refund.
Cancelled appointments with less than 4 business hours of notice will not receive a refund.
No Show | Pre paid appointments
Missed appointments will not receive a refund.
Lateness | Appointment for a consultation
If you are late to an appointment for a consultation, then the consultation will be deemed to have started at the appointed time.
If additional time is required beyond the booked appointment duration the appointment may be extended if our attorney’s/notary’s continued availability allows, however if the appointment is extended charges will be applied for the additional time in accordance with our attorney’s/notary’s normal professional rate as applicable.
Our attorney rate is $550 per hour, our notary rate is $660 per hour inclusive of GST.
Lateness | Appointment for a notary service
If you are late to an appointment for a notary service, then the service appointment will be deemed to have started at the appointed time.
If due to your lateness our notary cannot accommodate your booked service within the booked appointment duration a supplementary appointment may be required. A supplementary appointment of maximum 15 minute duration will be charged at $165 GST inclusive.
If a supplementary appointment is required it may be at a later time/day if our notary’s availability after the late appointment does not allow.
